The development of the Warwick Pro Series goes back to the year 2009. At that time the decision was made to produce only the Masterbuilt Custom Shop basses at the Markneukirchen production facility and produce more affordable models overseas using woods and parts sourced from Warwick.
German made Warwick basses are among the best instruments today. Unfortunately they are not within the reach of every player. That's why Warwick started to work closely with a small team of craftsmen in Corea in order to produce more affordable instruments that would bear the Warwick logo at their headstocks with pride.
What you get is a bass that not only looks like a Warwick. It plays and sounds like a Warwick, because it is a Warwick. Quality control is so strict that even some signature models are made at this factory. Amazing value for money.
This model in particular is the Pro Series Corvette Ash 4 Passive
The body is made from swamp ash and the neck is made from maple and ekanga, a really solid and stable combination plus it has the classic Warwick oil finish which makes it a joy to play. The wenge fingerboard is just perfect.
Warwick's frets are made using the same bronze that German church bells are made of so you can expect perfect sustain and resonance as well as extra life from them.
Sustain in this bass seems to be endless indeed. This is also thanks to the great tailpiece/bridge combination which allows the strings to have the perfect break angle at the bridge. Of course you can adjust the bridge in all directions: overall and individual height, intonation, string spacing, etc.
Small details such as pickup height adjustment have been redisgned and improved using metal inserts for the screws in the body of the bass meaning you can set the correct pickup height effortlessly. Cool.
Of course there's a two way truss rod so you can tweak the neck yo suit your climate and/or playing style. The truss rod can be accessed easily.
Also electronics are easily serviced. No tool is needed to access the battery which by the way is found inside an ultra clean electronics area. Just use your fingernails to open the rear electronics plate. Cool. Conductive paint is used thoughout and just the right amount of wireand top notch parts. We love it.
Warwick's trademark headstock is also ergonomic. All tuners are placed for the player to reach them easily. The adjustable nut (a classic feature from Warwick) is the final touch on a perfectly designed bass.
German made MEC electronics are used. This is an all Passive bass.
Two great sounding passive MEC "Dynamic Correction" Single Coil pickups are used in JJ arrangement. We love this combination as it blends a very deep and clear front pickup with a very solid back pickup. The combination of both produces a very wide sound that you can use in most situations.
This instrument comes with a Premium Line RockBag gigbag plus all the tools you need to set up the bass as well as straplocks.
