First made in 1958, this squawky short scale bass is loved for its distinctive sound. Heard on countless recordings.

Frame and centre block are made from plywood with a masonite top and back. This is a very lightweight bass and it plays really easy. In this case the whole upper part is completely hollow and there's a beautiful F hole in there.

We love the Red Hoy finish combined with cream binding.

Two "souped up" lipstick pickups are used and these deliver a surprisingly full and clear tone that's hard to find on a short scale bass (29.75"). Controls are Volume, Tone and 3 way pickup selector.

The special deep dual cutaway design allows for effortlessly access up to the 24th fret. You don't get to see many vintage basses or guitars with 24 frets but Danelectro have always been ahead of their time.

Price tag is surprisingly low for a bass made in Korea. Honestly, this bass could cost twice as much and it would still be good value for money.
