This is a first series Yamaha TRB6P bass as used by John Patitucci in the early 90's live and on several of his recordings both as a leader and as a sideman. This one was made in Japan in 1989.
It's the single truss rod model, hence lighter and with thinner neck than the next 2 truss rod model.
Multilaminate maple construction with alder wings and flamed maple top. Ebony fingerboard with 24 frets and quite flat shape. Wide neck (19mm spacing).
Also this is the 34" scale version, way more comfortable than the latter 35" model (and the low B is just perfect on this one).
Two Yamaha single coil pickups are used (clear and punchy) and there's a two band Active Preamp too. The bridge houses Yamaha's own piezo system and you get Volume and low cut switch. Lots of great tones here.
The bass shows some signs of wear as it's been played for years. The most remarkable being the gold patina starting to wear out. Other than that, it plays great and sounds fantastic.
A non original used case is included and it will get the job done.
