Maruszczyk Frog model (5 string), fretted and finished in spectacular Black Blue. It is an original design and one of the most successful from this brand.

We got to see and test this amazing bass at the Guitar Summit in Mannheim, Germany, in September 2024. The outstanding appearance caught our attention but when we tested it, we were sold. It plays and sounds just as good as it looks.

This bass has a really solid 3 piece hard rock maple roasted neck (super stable) that is joined to the alder body using the set neck method, meaning you get a great combination of clarity and sustain

We love the top quality ebony fingerboard (2 full octaves)

The narrow 45mm nut coupled with 17mm spacing at the bridge make for a really comfortable bass.

This bass sports two great Delano Xtender 5 HE/S pickups. Also it comes with the new Maruszczyk Toneformer 3 band preamp which really sounds great and offers 3 different mid frequencies for you to choose from. The preamp works at 18 Volts (using two 9 Volt batteries) and this means you get extra headroom when you hit the lowest notes with energy while boosting the Bass EQ.

As much as we love the Active mode on this bass, the truth is it sounds fantastic in Passive mode. In that mode the Treble pot acts as a passive tone so you really get the best of both worlds.

You also get two Single-Series-Parallel switches (one per pickup) so the number of great sounds on tap is just unbelievable. Those switches are really to use so you'll find easily your favorite sounds in a couple of minutes but don't worry: all the available sounds are top class so it's impossible to get bad sounds out of this instrument.

The gorgeous quilted ash top with matching headstock are finished in Black Blue and this color pattern is used throughout the whole instrument from the ramp to the oval inlays, Guyka metal knobs and Aurora Blue strings.

The low B is solid and loud, just as it should be.

To sum up: a gorgeous looking bass that plays like a dream, is extremely versatile and it sounds just amazing.

Maruszcyk Frog Omega 5a Blue Black

Maruszczyk is one of the brands that we've been dealers for in Spain for longer time. We've always loved these instruments and it is great to see that they do not just sit on their laurels but keep improving and growing. Every year we get a lot of new Maruszczyk basses and it is great to see that the quality and number of options just keep improving but the price tag remains incredibly affordable.

Adrian Maruszczyk is a professional bassplayer and a true visionary when it comes to bass designing. The headquarters of his brand are in Aldenhoven, Germany. Maruszczyk's moto is "From Player to Player" and it basically means that they are bassplayers who really understand what bassplayers need and can react to those needs really fast. Just check Public Peace's Youtube channel and you'll find Adrian himself doing most of the demos of his basses. We love this personal approach.

The basses are built in a small factory in Poland and Adrian Maruszczyk is really on top of the whole production system. For him it is simple: "if my name is on the bass, it has to be good".

Right now these instruments are already considered as some of the best European made basses.

What other brands call "Custom Shop", "Custom Built", "Masterbuilt", etc., means just standard at Maruszczyk basses. This means you won't be charged extra money just because a paticular component of piece of wood is a bit different. You just pay what you get for, We love this honest attitude. Also each bass is made to order, meaning they are actually all Custom Shop Basses. No standard series here or runds of dozens of similar instruments. In short: these are Custom Shop basses at Standard series pricing.
