This is a great Warwick Streamer Stage I-4 bass and it belongs in the Masterbuilt Series. This means that it has been produced at the Warwick factory in Markneikirchen, Germany, using the same tonewoods, parts and labour than the top of the line Custom Shop series.

The whole idea behind the Masterbuilt series is to offer distributors the chance of ordering a limited amount of basses made to their specs. In this case this means an outstanding finish called "Emeraud Green" plus Black hardware. This is by far the nicest looking "green" bass we've ever had at the shop. Pictures don't do it justice, believe us.

For many players the Streamer Stage I model is still the best and most representative within the Warwick family.

It features a gorgeous 3 piece flamed maple neck and a two piece American Cherrywood body. The combination of neck thru construction and maple is just perfect because you get an amazing attack as well as tremendous sustain.

The neck is an absolute joy to play thanks to the perfect shape and the narrow (38mm) nut which by the way is fully adjustable (Just-a-Nut), something that's been a feature on Warwick basses forever.

The fingerboard is made from wenge, an excellent tonewood that is hard and feels great under your fingers. There are 24 frets and these are special too as they are made from the same material that bells are made of. This means they will last forever and they resonate more than any other type of fretwire in the market.

Of course you get the traditional split bridge and tailpiece, another classic Warwick feature. This has the advantage of adding sustain as well as letting you tweak the action in every possible way. Being a German product, we cannot stress enough how smooth everything works. A true mechanical masterpiece.

This model comes with the latest version of German made MEC pickups and electronics. In this case it's a set of active pickups in PJ arrangement plus an Active-Passive 2 band circuit board.

This bass' construction and hardware makes for an incredibly resonant instrument. This can be easily felt even before plugging the bass to an amp. The acoustic response is loud, clear and lively. The good news is that these active pickups will allow you to hear that same clarity as soon as you plug the bass into a good amp. You get the full spectrum of sound with absolutely no restriction.

You can then use the active preamp to tweak your sound to match your taste. Add a touch of bass boost for an even bigger sound or cut the treble to get a more traditional type of sound but still with excellent detail and clarity. Absolutely fantastic.

Of course you can also disengage the preamp and get a the direct sound from the pickups, perfect for the studio,

The icing on the cake is that this particular bass is very light at just 3.6kg. This means that you can use it for long sessions without any sign of fatigue. Cool.

To sum up, an incredibly well made German bass that scores high in all departments.
