First made in 1958, this squawky short scale bass is loved for its distinctive sound. Heard on countless recordings.

Frame and centre block are made from plywood with a masonite top and back. This is a very lightweight bass and it plays really easy.

Two "souped up" lipstick pickups are used and these deliver a surprisingly full and clear tone that's hard to find on a short scale bass (29.75"). Controls are stacked Volume and Tone (one for each pickup).

The special deep dual cutaway design alllows for effortlessly access up to the 24th fret. You don't get to see many vintage basses or guitars with 24 frets but Danelectro have always been ahead of their time.

Price tag is suprisingly low for a bass made in Corea. Honestly, this bass could cost twice as much and it would still be good value for money.
