Here's a really exceptional bass.
You probably are already familiar with Parker's revolutionary guitars. It took them a while to make basses, but the wait has been worthwhile.
The result is a bass with the radical (now classic) Parker body shape, amazing low weight (7 3/4 lbs), and a palette of sounds to cover almost any situation.
The body is made from sitka spruce, a wood used in many acoustic guitars for the top, and this insures an extremely light and responsive body, which is then added a quilted maple top and back for extra stiffness, articulation and of course, great looks.
Many light basses suffer from head diving, but in this case Parker uses their trademark trimmed headstock and ultralight locking Sperzel tuners, making the bass perfectly balanced with a strap and even without.
Two Dimarzio Ultrajazz stacked single coils offer great Jazz Bass tones, and the 2 band preamp helps you make subtle but musical variations to further adapt to different styles.
As you would expect from a Parker instrument, the bridge has piezo saddles by Fishman (Larry Fishman is the partner of Ken Parker at Parker guitars).
fortunately, this piezo does not suffer from that horrible treble noise and harshness. Instead, the piezo can deliver a solid and deep sound that can actually be used on its own.
Using the magnetics and adding a touch of piezo produces a great "airy" tone that will let you explore new sonic worlds.
The graphite neck is incredibly easy to play and makes all the strings sound equally loud.
You may like the design a lot or not so much, but this is an amazing bass for the working player that has to play for hours. Your back will be happy that you have bought this bass.
Comes with a heavily padded gigbag
