This Sandberg California VS4 left handed is a classic looking instrument with some modern specs and features.
It has been designed for players who need a really versatile and powerful bass and can be used for hours without fatigue (it is really lightweight and balanced). Classic body and neck dimensions make this a really comfortable bass to play.
Sanberg are experts when it comes to Relic finish andthis is a good example. The aptly named "Hardcore Aged" treatment is fantastic and it really suits the Black color making this bass look like an authentic vintage bass. The matching headstock is really cool too.
The roasted neck has a great feel to it and it looks just great. We also love the abalone dots on the fingerboard.
This bass in particular comes with a Sandberg Split Coil Pickup as well as 2 band active electronics but with Passive mode and Passive Tone too. In short, a winning combination.
The sound is really vintage in passive mode but as soon as you kick the preamp in you get extra output and punch and you can of course control Bass and Treble to get other tones.
