2020 marked the 15th Anniversary of our shop Doctorbass.net so we ordered several special basses to different luthiers to celebrate it.
We have been dealers for Marleaux basses for years and we've always been amazed by thge sheer quality of these handmade basses so obviously we had to get these. We have sold lots of Marleaux basses over the years and each of them was fantastic.
There's simply nothing in the market with this quality within this price range.
The first batch of 15th Anniversary basses was sold immediately but we've managed to order some more and here it is one of them.
We chose the successful Consat model. This design allows for an ultra comfortable instrument that plays like a dream and is usually lightweight. Note to note and string to string consistency is just perfect. Elecronics are top notch and ultra quiet (Marleaux uses his own circuit board and it is one the best in the world).
These basses have some really special specs such as:
- Spruce Top
- Aged Violin finsh
- Passive Tone in Passive Mode (Treble Pot)
- Very limited units available
This is the 6 string fretted model. It is feather light, allows for an ultra low action and sounds amazing. Responsive, dynamic, clear and full bodied. Any technique you may think of this bass will deliver with ease. The low B is susprisingly loud and clear and this is a 34" scale bass so you don't have to stretch your hand at all. Use the passive Tone to get really close to a traditional Jaco sound or use the active EQ to get a more modern and percussive type of sound. All 3 bands in the EQ have been carefully chosen to deliver the most musical tone possible. This bass is absolutely noiseless. Zero noise even if you boost the Treble pot to the max. Amazing!
