The new Metro Express series is the latest member in the Sadowsky family and we dare to say these are the best Super Jazz Basses that we've found below 1000€
As you know, an instrument made by Roger Sadowsky and his team in New York (NYC series) costs around 5000€ and takes months to be built. These are amazing instruments but if you can't afford the expense or need an instrument fast then you have the renewed Metro Line which used to be crafted in Japan and is now made at the Warwick facilities in Germany. These sell for around 3000€ and are basically the same quality as their American brothers but with limited finish options to help producing them faster. No corners are cut so these are a great alternative.
However if your budget is even tighter or just want to get an inexpensive bass but still need quality and comfort, options were limited until now. That's why we are so thrilled about the new Sadowsky Metroline Express series. These are made in China at the same facilities where the great Warwick Rockbass instruments are built, meaning quality is just great.
As you can see, these basses look 100% Sadowsky. Clean lines and design, lightweight, quiet electronics and of course a fantastic 2 band preamp to bring all the punch and character that Sadowsky basses are famous for.
Everything in this bass feels balanced. Playability is great and low action is perfectly possible. Any bass with the Sadowsky name at the headstock is going to be absolutely clean in the electroncis department. That's why these basses are kings in the studio and live. No hum or strange noises here.
The sound in passive mode is actually very traditional. When you kick in the active preamp you are rewarded with that familiar punch that will make any bassline sound great. Deep and powerful but never muddy. Bright if needed but never too aggressive. Cool.
We love the fast and easy access to the truss rod at the base of the neck. No special tools are needed to tweak it (this is a standard feature on all Sadowsky basses).
This is the Metro Express Verdine White Signature model
Sadowsky Guitars is honored to announce the release of the Verdine White Signature Bass. Verdine, the bassist for Earth, Wind & Fire, has been a Sadowsky artist for over twenty years. Based on Verdine's first Sadowsky bass, this addition to the NYC Satin Series has an undersized J-style body of chambered alder, PJ pickups, and a J-bass width neck (1.5” at the nut).
The Verdine White Signature Bass is a tribute to Verdine's late brother, Maurice White, and a portion of the proceeds from each bass will be donated to the non-profit Verdine White Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles, California. The Center’s purpose is to assist musically talented students living in underserved communities. The Center provides scholarships, music lessons, and instruments. Sadowsky Guitars will donate two basses to the Performing Arts Center.
The bass itself is basically a 21 modern PJ model, that is: Precision-Jazz Bass Style with one Split and one Single Coil pickup, both passive. No pickguard over the body finished in Olympic White (great clean looks) and Morado fingerboard.
This bass is a joy to play and it sounds fantastic.
This bass comes with Schaller type straplocks, quality padded gigbag and all the neccesary adjustment keys.
