This is a new bass from luthier Imanol Egilegor who is based in Okamika, Vizcaya.
We've been selling Egilegor basses for some time and we are happy to report that these basses are better than ever.
This model is the Biadar (meaning double cutaway) 5 string and 24 frets and in this case the body is made from swamp ash with a really cool ebony top and matching headstoc. The neck is a multilaminate type made of swamp ash, jacaranda and ebony. Ebony is also used for the fingerboard and block inlays are made from padouk. Really cool!
Regarding electronics, Imanol builds his own pickups in house and the truth is they sound terrific. These are Alnico V Splitcoil with the magnets set at 45 degrees. Amazing sound and zero noise. Great!
Electronics are Aguilar OBP-3 so you get excellent performance, low noise and 3 band EQ with 400/800Hz midrange selection (push-pull mid control). There's also a Passive tone in that mode so there's plenty of possibilities on tap here.
