100% made in Germany Warwick bass

This is the Warwick Jack Bruce Cream Reunion Bass, Jack Bruce was a long time Warwick user and chances are you've probably seen him using his Thumb Bass fretless bass a lot since he made it his number one instrument back in the 80's. However, when the band Cream (with Eric Clapton on guitar and Ginger Backer on drums) announced that they'd give a number of concerts in 2005, Warwick created this rather special and unique bass for Jack to use it. As you can see, it is based on his old Gibson EB-3 but there are many things that set this instrument apart from its American cousin. Basically it has a similar shape and special attention has been paid to produce a true vintage sound but with some modern appointments and of course Warwick's experience in the bass building world and their use of excellent and ultra stable tonewoods.

The ovangkol-ekanga neck is really solid and stable and it has the classic Warwick oil finish which makes it a joy to play. The wenge fingerboard is just perfect and is also a pleasure for your fingers.

Warwick's frets are made from the same material as German church bells so you can expect perfect sustain and resonance as well as extra life from them.

Sustain in this bass seems to be endless indeed. This is also thanks to the 3D Schaller bridge (same one as the one used in the first models).

Small details such as pickup height adjustment have been redisgned and improved using metal inserts for the screws in the body of the bass meaning you can set the correct pickup height effortlessly. Cool.

Of course there's a two way truss rod so you can tweak the neck yo suit your climate and/or playing style. The truss rod can be accessed easily.

Also electronics are easily serviced. No tool is needed to access the battery which by the way is found inside an ultra clean electronics area. Just use your fingernails fo open the rear electronics plate. Cool. Conductive paint is used thoughout and just the right amount of wire and top notch parts. We love it.

A cool feature is that there are switcheable LED's on the side of the fingerboard. This is really helpful in dark/foggy stages. There's a separate battery for this system as well as an On-Off switch.

German made MEC electronics are used. The term here would be ultra quiet and effective. You get a 3 band Preamp and controls are Volume, Balance, Bass, Midrange and Treble. Of course you also get Passive mode by pulling the Volume pot. The idea here is to be able to produce a 100% vintage tone in passive mode and then a more complex and versatile sound in active mode. We are glad to report that this really works.

Two passive MEC humbucker pickups are used. They sound completely different to other pickups from this German brand and in this case we really think they compliment the sound of the instrument just perfect.

This instrument comes with a custom Flightcase complete with tools and certificate of authenticity.
