This is a new bass from luthier Imanol Egilegor who is based in Okamika, Vizcaya.

We've been selling Egilegor basses for some time and we are happy to report that these basses are better than ever.

This model is the Biadar (meaning double cutaway) 5 string and 24 frets and in this case it is also hollowbody (hence lightweight and resonant). The body is made of alder with a gorgeous bubinga pommele top multilaminate neck (swamp ash, bubinga and wenge). A beautiful piece of birdseye has been used for the fingerboard.

Regarding electronics, Imanol builds his own pickups in house and the truth is they sound terrific. They are Jazz type humbuckers meaning they are true side by side Singlecoils. There are two switches for Single-Humbucker as well as two switches for Series-Paralle operation (when in humbucker mode). In single coil mode you can put both pickups out of phase too so there's plenty of different sounds availabe. The active-passive Noll preamp (3 band with sweepable mids and Passive tone) is the icing on the cake.

The bass weighs in at a mere 3.5kg and ergonomics are just great so if you need a bass for long reharsals and gigs you will really enjoy it.
