We sold a lot of Marleaux Straight models when they came out. Actually we only stopped because the model was discontinued but it was one of our all time favourites.
A very straight and direct sound (hence the name) is acheived using a 1 piece hardrock maple for the neck which in combination with the deep bolt on method produces a very lively sound with lots of attack and plenty of sustain.
Häussel pickups are used and they are really excellent. The bass sounds amazing in passive but if you need more punch or variation in sound the built in Marleaux preamp (still the lowest noise ratio in the market) offers deep lows, articulated mids and smooth treble. A Single-Parallel-Series Switch lets you choose three distinctive sounds from the bridge pickup.
The low B is really loud and clear at the same time. Action can be set really low if so you need.
This is of course a used bass so there are some dings and marks here and there but none of them interfere with the playability or sound of this cool handmade instrument. Here's your chance to get a bass made by one of the best luthiers in the world for a great price.
