Here's a unique bass. It has been made by the hands of Kostadin Dimitrov luthier in Sofia, Bulgaria and. Want to stress the fact that is has been handmade as Kostadin doesn't use any CNC machine or big tools. All his instruments are created by hand using only small tools and a lot of elbow grease. This allows him to control the building process thoroughout. The result is a bass that is just about perfect.
This is the Rev II model and as you can see it is a very compact and attractive design that is really well balanced as well as lightweight.
Apart from being comfortable and easy to play, of course it sounds just great. Two Häussel Big Mag pickups yield a traditional sound with slightly broader frequency response and a little more output than traditional pickups. The bass sounds beautiful in passive mode so you might find yourself using it in that mode most of the time. Of course the active preamp (simple Bass and Treble) is clean and effective so this comes in handy in case you need a bigger sound or some different type of tones. There's a Parallel/Series switch that connects both pickups in that mode (Balance doesn't work in Series) giving a fuller and louder sound.
The low B is particularly good on this bass. Just as loud as the others but with more definition than in many other good 5 string basses our there.
To sum up: an amazing bass that's 100% handmade from top notch woods and parts and perfect workmanship. A true work of art that just begs to be played.
