This is a rather special little bass that was designed by Ortega Guitars to fill the gap between the large acoustic bass (Ken Taylor model) and the smaller ukelele bass (Lizard model). They also wanted it to sound different to their other basses and come up with a sound of its own, and we are happy to report they have succeeded. The use of custom made nylon strings by Pyramid make it sound deeper and warmer than any other acoustic bass out there.
Electronics are a really effective B Band pickup/preamp and you get a single volume control at the soundhole. No need for more, as the bass sounds surprisingly natural when plugged in to a nice amp with no need for additional EQ.
It sounds and plays like a dreams, is really easy to carry around and the price is great. What more could you ask for?
