We get a lot of requests for affordable fretless basses, but everything we tried before was just too bad for us to sell it. This Rochester is a modest bass but it actually sounds good and is well built. The fretlines will make it easier to play in tune if you come from fretted bass. We actually like the pickup arrangement and location. The bridge pickup has a nice Jaco like tone, and the front pickup is deep and woody. Really nice for the price.
