Dan Lakin founded Lakland back in 1994 and has been creating some really amazing basses all this time, based on traditional designs but with some important updates and improvements, but with the utmost respect to the TONE that bass players want. Dan has left the company in 2010, and is now run by Hanson Electronics. We have been able to get some of THE LAST Lakin era Laklands, so this is a great chance not just to buy a great American bass, but also a real investment. We are sure in no time you'll see the "Pre-Hanson" tag when talking about Lakland basses. Are you going to miss this chance? What's more, we are offering these basses with a nice discount, so there's no excuse now. This 44-94 model is the most versatile bass that ever came out of the Lakland shop in Chicago, with the trademark Single Coil and Splittable Humbucker. What you get are real Jazz, Precision and Musicman tones, plus Lakland's own sound. This is easily the active bass with a more traditional and full sound in the market. You'll get none of that sterile Hi Fi sound that plagues many "modern" basses these days, but a full bodied sound with plenty of punch and growl that will sit comfortably in any mix, reagardless if you play Rock, Pop, Punk Funk, Ska, etc. Excellent wood selection, construction, finish and parts. A bass for a life time, no question about it.
