This is the most affordable Lakland 5 string bass, and a good proof that you get a lot of bass for the price.
The long scale (35") adds the needed tension to make the low B perform great and avoid the usual volume dropout in that string found in many basses in this price range and even more expensive.
Electronics are twin humbuckers by Bartolini (MkI model) plus a well chosen 3 band active preamp, so it is easy to dial in a lot of useable tones.
Tone can be described as modern and well defined, with a nice punch.
In short: a great bass for the price.
