The Skyline series of basses are initially built and put together in
Korea. From there, all the basses (not just a few for inspections) are
sent to Lakland's shop in Chicago, where Dan Lakland and his team will
set up every single bass; this includes fretwork, neck inspection, fresh (and better) strings, and more. Click here if you want to read the full story.
This particular model (44-02) sports a pair of USA Bartolini pickups in the famous Lakland arrangement: a MusicMan type humbucker at the bridge + a single coil at the neck. the preamp is a 3 band Bartolini unit that really complements the pickups.
