We all love those classic Fender Basses from the 70's. There's something about them that is really interesting for many players. The natural finish over ash bodies with one ply black pickguards is a big part of that. Maple fingerboards and large "TV friendly" logos on the headstocks are also part of the whole.

This is the Jazz Bass model and it features two classic sounding Single Coil pickups. The neck pickup is remarkably close to a P Bass while the bridge pickup sounds a bit tighter and brighter compared to a Jazz Bass from the 60's. The reason is that in the 70's this pickup was moved 9mm (3/8") closer to the bridge. At the same time this produces a slightly scooped sound (thanks to phase cancellation) and that's the reason why 70's Jazz Basses have such a killer sound for slapping.

This bass belongs to a Limited Series that caputures the essence of 70's Fenders and we have to say that both the looks and the sound are spot on. Pretty remarkable considering this is a really affordable instrument.
