This is not the first time that we have O3 basses at the shop but we are thrilled to have this amazing bass here with us.

O3 instruments are made with loving care completely by hand by luthier Alejandro Ramírez in the sunny city of Almería, South of Spain.

This instrument proves that Alejandro is not a luthier to rest in his laurels. He's always been really good at this, but this instrument just proves he has continued learning over the last few years.

This model is named Caesium 5 and, as you can see, it sports the fanned frets (or multi-scale) system where the 1st string has a speaking length of 33,8" and the low B is 35,2" long. This might look unusual, ground breaking or experimental but actually it is not. Grand pianos and concert harps follow the same principle, using longer strings for the bass register and shorter strings for the treble register. This way each string is perfect for the open note that will reproduce. The good news is that not only does this work, but it is also easy to play. No need to make any changes to your playing technique. It might look unusual, but it is actually dead easy to play and the benefits are clear.

Other cool features are the graphite reinforced 7 piece set neck that extends up to the front pickup, ensuring the perfect blend of sustain and attack.

Pickups are handmade by Häussel in Germany. The sound is remarkably pure and flat, meaning you get to hear the natural sound from the vibrating strings and we think that's great. An Aguilar OBP-3 preamp is used to add flavour to the sound. You can go all the way from an ultra low and punchy tone to a crisp and percussive sound and just about everything in between. Electronics are fully shielded so no need to worry about strange noises here. A Single-Humbucker switch offer even more versatility.

A gorgous piece of poplar burl has been used for the top as well as the back and the headstock is matched too. Cool! Wenge is used for the fingerboard and the pickup covers.

To sum up, a 100% handmade bass that looks, plays and sounds awesome.
