Signature model for the amazing bassist John Patitucci, featuring his favourite specs and only the best woods and hardware to come from the Yamaha factory in Japan. This is Yamaha's flagship bass actually.

The 35" scale and 19mm spacing bridge make for a bog bass with a wide neck, and this is particularly comfortable if you come from 4 or 5 string basses. Many 6 string basses come with tighter string spacing, meaning you have to adjust to that spacing and some techniques become a bit more complicated to play.

The bolt on neck keeps the attack of the notes intact and there's still loads of sustain here so it offers the best of both worlds.

The wide neck is particularly good when you play in the upper register and don't forget you have 26 frets too!

The low B is loud and tight thanks to the 35" scale. Everything seems to just work on this instrument.

Of course the sound is up to the rest of the specs, with a full and clear tone that will work great for groovy lines, chordal work or wild soloing. the active 3 band EQ offers more than enough scope for sonic variation if you need it, but this bass sounds great with all the controls flat in our opinion so not a big need to tweak them.
