Ashdown Evo 300II, controles
MADE IN ENGLAND

The ABM C210-300 EVO II combo combines the features of the ABM 300 EVO II head with 2 X 10" Ashdown BlueLine drivers plus HF tweeter in a precision tuned cabinet. The cabinet is constructed from high-grade birch ply with properly screwed and glued joints, protected by a tough, buffalo leather cloth covering and chromed metal corners. All amplifier chassis are built from heavy-duty 16 swg zinc coated mild steel, foil lined to minimise interference, and special Ashdown-designed metal handles are used in favour of inferior flip handles which can rattle after years of use.

The ABM 300 EVO II is a 325 watts RMS bi-amp bass amp head designed to satisfy both bass-purists and tech-heads alike. Three straightforward rotary tone controls provide 20dB of cut and boost at 60Hz, 660Hz and 5kHz, and are supplemented by two pairs of additional sliders giving 15dB cut and boost at 180Hz, 340Hz, 1.3kHz and 2.6kHz. The EQ can be switched in/out, and flat/shaped by footswitch, enabling players to go from a flat fretless sound to a boosted sound via a favourite EQ setting. A single input is switchable for passive and active instruments with a blend of solid state and dual triode tube preamps stages which can be preset and selected by footswitch, providing access to a massive range of clean, warm and overdriven tones. Also footswitchable is the mighty Ashdown sub-harmonic generator which precisely tracks the main signal and reproduces it an octave lower. A sub-harmonic level control enables the player to add just the right amount of low-end reinforcement - everything from a subtle, thickening of the sound to unbridled, bone crushing tone. The ABM 300 EVO II features a front-panel mounted balanced DI out with pre or post EQ switching, a sub-bass output, a tuner output, an FX loop and a line input for the connection of an external sampler or sound source. Output muting cuts the signal from the DI output but leaves the tuner output 'live', allowing the player to tune up in silence. A new upgraded power section has faster transient attack, more headroom and even less noise.

Ashdown BlueLine speakers are specially developed to achieve a superb balance of power, transparency and deep, controlled low end, without sacrificing any of the mid-band attack and high-end brightness that are so important in a modern bass sound.

This is a NO COMPROMISE design using the best parts available wherever possible.
Some examples of this are as follows:
• Gold plated jack sockets for reliability and long life.
• Full metal XLR sockets for strength and their positive latching facility.
• Powerful output stages for extra headroom (rated in English RMS real power and not MUSIC or
PEAK power as these can claim to be 2 or 3 times the actual real power of the amplifier).
• Doubling up of the cooling fans for reliability and reduced fan noise (2 fans can run at half the speed
to provide the same cooling capacity and as a consequence generate only half the noise of one fan
running at twice the speed).
• Speed controlled fan drive circuit. Again this reduces the amount of fan noise as the fans run slow
when the unit is cool and increase in speed with output power demands.
• Powerful TOROIDAL mains transformer. This is more expensive than a laminated stack transformer
but has better regulation, i.e., provides more power on demand without sagging out and also has a
minimal external magnetic field which means that single coil pick up basses are less likely to pick up
mains hum from the amplifier.
• FET input circuit to the preamp for ‘Warmth’ even when using the CLEAN input mix setting.
• D.C. heaters for the TUBE section for low noise operation.
• Switch on delay for silent power up.
• Thermal trip for output protection.
• Relay switched speaker output lines for silent power down.
• Sub Bass output and Sub Harmonics facility for really serious bottom end.
