Marleaux Sopran
The latest creation by Marleaux is the SOPRAN, a short scale bass that has been made from scratch to work in Piccolo tuning (one octave above standard)
Gerlad Marleaux has realized that many bass players like to access a higher tuning for soloing or chordal work, or just as a mean to have a new voice on your instrument. This was the reason behing the creation of this totally new model. After some resarch, he set on a 57 cm scale for this model, and this proves to be just perfect.
It features a single passive Delano pickup and Volume control. Construction and detail are just the same as with other models by the German Masterbuilder, so you’ll have a bass for a lifetime. Players like Victor Wooten, Steve Bailey or Uriah Duffy are already using them.
The Sopran we have at the shop comes with a gorgeous qulted maple top in purple.
This one in particular is hand signed by Victor Wooten at the back.
Here’s a picture for size comparison with a standard Marleaux bass.
